Hispania was the name given by the ancient Romans to the Iberian Peninsula. It is believed that the word meant “land of rabbits “.

When the Roman legions conquered territories, became provinces of his empire, leaving Hispania divided into 5 provinces: Baetica, Lusitania, Gallaecia, Tarragona and Cartaginense.
