The study of Roman civilization here presented is mainly focused on the longer period of territorial expansion and diffusion of Roman culture. This will become more understandable to students the importance of Roman civilization in the Mediterranean and Occidental historical process , justifying its choice as an example of ancient civilization understood by their relevance as a historical landmark ( The Roman Empire Fall as an event that inaugurates the Middle Ages) .
In this sense, the key concept is explaining the Romanization as a process of expansion and diffusion of the Roman way of life and culture in the Mediterranean area; process that led to the diffusion of the alphabet and the Latin language, the introduction of forms of public and political life, the expansion of Christianity ...
